What are the advantages to using Powua?
With Powua you can have at your disposal a super computer paid for according to consumption, wherever you are through the Internet, and therefore you can reduce all the processing times for all those applications that need computing power.
Are the processors/nodes I'm using shared?
The nodes you're using are dedicated and exclusive, which means you won't have to share access to your cluster and your storage area with anyone else, so that you'll benefit from all the power.
Which is the difference between Powua and a cluster I would have at my place?
You don't pay all the expenses of acquiring it, mantain it, powering it and configuring it. It is ready to be used where you are when you want to.
Is Powua free to use during the beta period?
Yes, it is a period for experimenting and testing, whith some limitations both on features and given warranties. We use it to implement and improve our service and it's free for everyone. If you want to try Powua create your new account and you will receive a welcome bonus of 25 free PowuaCredits.
Is using Powua secure?
The work environment (the cluster) is not shared and we use some of the highest security protocol standards, like SSL, in the transmission of your data.
How often should I change the password?
Your password is the only access key that allows your data to be accessed. We advise you to change it often, at least every three months; it depends on the type of work you're carrying out, the size of the responsibilities, the type of person you are...
Can I stop a session and resume it later?
Not yet, but we'll probably be able to allow it in future.
What are the differences to virtual machines?
In Virtual Machines, your data circulate on virtual, not physical, processors and with Powua the processors are completely and exclusively at your disposal. You can see and feel the difference.
Can storage be increased?
The available storage is 3GB. It can be accessed 5 days before your booking and is available for up to 5 days from the end of the work period. When your time expires, all the contained data will be deleted, so you must remember to download your data; the Powua team will try to remind you in various ways, but on expiry the data will be deleted with no possibility of recovering them.
Which are the helpdesk emails? Wich language may I use to correspond with you?
Initially our helpdesk is in English and in Italian, but we plan to support other languages soon.
